About Dr. Didi


Dr. Didi Watts is a lifelong Democrat who has spent the last twenty seven years in public service giving back to her community. She is an accomplished educator who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Education with a concentration in Counseling and an Ed.D in Educational Leadership for Social Justice.

Didi has spent nearly three decades as an educator advocating for the needs of Black and Latino students. She served as a public school teacher in South Los Angeles before transitioning into the role of school psychologist. Fueled by a desire to provide excellent support to special education students and families, Didi served as the Assistant Director of Special Education. Didi then served as a middle school principal focusing on academics while improving school culture and climate. Didi moved into non profit management serving on behalf of students in residential and specialized placements and partnering with various educational agencies to provide supportive special education placements.

Currently, Dr. Didi Watts serves as a chief of staff to one of our locally elected LAUSD school board members advocating on behalf of all of our children.

Outside of work, Didi enjoys vacationing with her husband of twenty-nine years and spending time with their three adult children and granddaughter.
